What is my domain worth?

Get an estimated value for any domain — and, unlike every other appraisal tool, see exactly which signals produced it.

How the estimate is built

Measured demand, not opinion

We check whether the exact string is already registered across twelve extensions, and how many registered domains start with the same word. Both come from zone-file data covering 227 million domains.

Length and scarcity

Four-letter .com domains are effectively all gone, which is why they carry the resale market. Longer names are plentiful, so buyers always have an alternative.

Can you say it?

A name has to survive being read down a phone line. Consonant pileups and awkward vowel ratios cost real money at resale.

The extension matters

The same string is worth a fraction on .xyz that it is on .com. Our multipliers reflect where resale demand actually concentrates.

Questions

How is the domain value estimated?

Mostly from what the name means. A single dictionary word, two real words joined, a brandable built on a root like cash to cashly, or an invented string are four different markets, and the first is worth orders of magnitude more than the last. Length, extension and trademark standing adjust it from there, and demand is measured against zone-file data covering 227 million registered domains rather than guessed.

How accurate is it?

It is calibrated against 1,185 recorded .com sales and backtested against the same set. Two-word domains land within 10x of the real sale price 87% of the time, single dictionary words 78%. That is an estimate to reason with, not a precise figure — what a domain actually sells for depends on who wants it and when, and two near-identical names can differ by an order of magnitude.

Is this a formal valuation?

No. It is an estimate to reason with, not an appraisal you could take to a bank or use as the sole basis for a purchase. For a high-value purchase, get comparable sales for that specific market.

Why is my domain worth so little?

Usually length, a hyphen, a digit, or an extension outside .com. The zone files hold 173 million .com against 13 million .net, and resale demand concentrates where the traffic is. The signals list will tell you which factor is pulling your number down.

Does checking cost anything?

No. Ten appraisals a day are free with no account required. Premium removes the limit and shows an estimated value on every name the generator produces.
